1. What is modeX?
modeX is a system of wireless microphones for students and teachers and a receiver of the signals from these.

The aim is that the hearing-impaired student should hear teachers and other students as well as their normal-hearing classmates. This gives the same conditions to make use of knowledge for everyone.

2. Why do you develop student microphones?
According to us, it is by far the best way of ensuring a good speech perception for the hearing-impaired person.

3. Why is a short microphone distance important?

A short microphone distance is the equivalent of speaking directly into your ear! This is the idea behind student microphones. Below you will find some situations which explain the use of a short microphone distance:

- If one person speaks in a low voice in a silent library, it is easy to hear what the person says since no surrounding sounds destroy the speech. The speech perception is very good.

- If the same person speaks in the same way, but is e.g. situated in a restaurant environment, it will be more difficult to hear what she says because of all the surrounding sounds. The speech perception will be considerably worse.

- If the person at the restaurant speaks directly into your ear, you will hear well again since the surrounding sounds will be perceived as faint. This corresponds to what happens when student microphones are used.

4. If I buy modeX, am I then stuck with a special system?
No! We have developed modeX so that it will be as compatible as possible with other systems on the market.

5. On what frequencies does modeX work?
modeX works at 168-218 MHz.

6. What preset channels for modeX are there?
There are 100 preset channels, see a list here.

7. We have older products from GN ReSound. Should we replace them now?
No, it is not necessary! It works perfectly fine to add modeX to your existing system.

8. Does the stand for modeX Teacher/Student also function as a charger?
No, the stand with a black round plate under it, is aimed for keeping the microphone steady on the table. Charging is only done in the charger (which needs power supply, of course). In maximum 7 hours the rechargeable battery in the microphone is fully loaded again.
